We got Sarah's passport today (in her Chinese name) plus notarized official copies of her birth certificate, abandonment certificate and adoption agreement. With all this in-hand the flight from Shanghai to Guangzhou went pretty well except for being late and sitting for 45m on the tarmac in the heat! Still, considering Sarah had never been on a plane before she did very well (lots of snacks helped and watching 101 Dalmatian movie).
All the rest of the group arrived from different provinces today so it will be fun to see all the "new" kids (of various ages) tomorrow when they al have to have their physical exams as part of the US immigration requirements. From what I recall last time, the clinic is a madhouse with lots of very unhappy children being poked and prodded and a severely overworked staff trying to keep up!
Pictures below are misc. from last night and today. Of note is the Shanghai method for delivering water - very different from the big Alhambra truck that comes by the office periodically!
The underwater pictures are of Rachel (who swims like a fish, or as she puts it, like a mermaid). Sarah had never been in a pool before Monday (when we took her) so she's not totally comfortable in the water yet but is definitely making progress. Since she wants to do everything her sister does and is very determined, my guess is that she'll be swimming by the end of the summer!
