...after a total of almost 16 hours flying via Hong Kong. We flew on Cathay Pacific for the first time and the plane and the service was excellent with edible food!
Here's a Beijing streetscape from the hotel window. It's the same hotel we stayed at for one night when we flew to Changsha (Hunan Province) via Beijing to get Rachel in 2003. The view is basically the same except for the small white building in the right front has gone - replaced by a big office block!

Rachel did extremely well on the flights. On the 2nd leg from HKG to PEK she got a new Nintendo Game unit which helped pass the time quite well, even dad had a go!
Everyone is tired now but doing OK at 2 pm in the afternoon (11 pm in CA).
