Princess Diana Memorial Park - London

Our next stop was London where we spend the remainder of our time in England.
First thing we did was drop the car off at the rental shop, grab a cab and find our new home for the next 3 nights. This would prove to be another adventure which is always good if you want a story for your blog. Simon heard about and booked us into a dorm room at Imperial College (part of London University) which he attended. Seems someone had the brilliant idea to use the rooms when the students weren’t there. The facilities were basic but more than sufficient when you just need a place to sleep. The prices are reasonable, which is not too easy to find if you want to stay in London in the summer. Each room has a shower, toilet, beds, linens changed everyday with breakfast included!
When Simon told me about this plan, I decided to trust he knew what he was doing. Good thing, he has a good track record for being trustworthy because I wasn’t quite sure about this one. Good news was I didn’t have to go down the hall for the bathroom and share with a bunch of other people. One college experience I didn’t mind not having.

We took the girls to the Princess Diana Memorial Park which was walking distance thru Hyde Park so the girls could play. The park was opened in June 2000, in memory of the late Princess and is located near her former Kensington Palace home. The girls loved the playground which has a huge wooden pirate ship, sand and running water. The walk back was a bit more challenging so finding different colored and shaped leaves and then throwing them in the air helped get the girls back out of the park.

We got the tube (subway) to an interesting restaurant called Leon's and met Andi and Pete for a dinner of ""healthy fast food". Actually it was quite good (middle-East based) and reasonably priced. Ater dinner we walked to Covent Garden for dessert at Porter's - famous for it's English puddings.
