Took us 28 hours but we finally arrived in England

Well after 28 hours of delays, missing flight connections, being rerouted to London Airport, taking yet another plane we arrived in Sheffield in time to celebrate Rachel’s 7th birthday one more time. The house was decorated with “Happy Birthday” balloons and signs. For dessert we celebrated with a Tinker Bell cake with candles that would not blow out, at least not for quite a while and lots of smoke.

We also got to play “pass the parcel”, which was a lot of fun. Simon’s family played it when they were little and his sister has carried on the tradition. This is a child’s party game but can be played by anyone. The game is played by wrapping layers of newspaper, cheaper than wrapping paper but you can use either, in each layer is a small gift, for this parcel we got a package of candy when the music stopped and whoever was holding the package got to unwrap and find the treasure. When you’re playing with small children best to stop the music so everyone gets a turn, as the last turn was taken there was two names (Sarah & Rachel) that they had won a special present. Very sweet and the girls loved the game.
Thank you Aunt Angela, Uncle Andy, Lauren and Sarah for making Rachel and Sarah’s visit so much fun.
