The girls are in bed now and life has become a little less stressful. They are both asleep. Yeah!!.
Well, you have to talk quite a bit to talk more than Rachel and I (Debbie) but Sarah is definitely beating us in the talking and singing department. I think Rachel is now in shock about what a sister really means, taking my things, not giving them back, hiding them. Yes, life has become really interesting. Imagine, two caucasians, two chinese girls, one talking up a storm and us not having a clue what she's saying. She knows want she wants and if we knew what she was saying we could say yes or no quite easily. The tricky bit is knowing what's she asking for. So we're in Pizza Hut and she points to what looks like a chocolate milkshake drink and so what's the big deal, we know what it feels like to point a lot in China and then hopefully get what we think we want. So the waitress brings out the drink which is bascially a chocolate dessert drink with a scoop of ice cream on top. Yep, she ordered herself dessert before we had even gotten our pizza. So much for Simon and I valuing communication. Picture of this below!
Debbie and Simon - I got up early today (6:40 AM) and right away pulled up your blog to get the good news! Sarah is so pretty and very saavy to get her dessert first! Vince just came upstairs and I told him there were photos of Sarah and he said "I know - I already saw them" - so we are johnny on the spot here in CA! How are you two feeling? Everything seems to be going very smoothly so far - when and where did you meet Sarah? She seems very comfortable with you and very happy...congratulations on this special day for your family!
ReplyDeleteXOXOXO to all of you from all of us!!!! Susan
The question is, can she talk more than Lauren?! That would be scary!!! She looks gorgeous and you all look so settled together. Fantastic day!!
ReplyDeleteThe Hollingums!
She is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteI read some where that Chinese usually eat
dessert first. ;) (it is usually fruit though)
She looks like she is comfortable with
her new family. I am so happy for you.
I have enjoyed following along.
Kathy (waiting for RA for second D from China) AWAA

ReplyDeleteWith fond regards, John (JBW)
Debbie and Simon - WHAT??? No new photos or update today????? You're killing me! Anyway, obviously we are thinking of you and excited to see more of Sarah! Susan et al
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on AWAA blogs in China now! She is too adorable! I laughed at the milkshake story! I can just imagine our son doing that when we travel! Our 6-year-old had a hard time becoming a big brother when his 3-year-old sister came home. :))) Fun times!!!
