Today we woke up to rain, so it was the perfect opportunity for the girls to use their beautiful sun/rain umbrellas. Our travel group visited the Guangdong Folk Art Museum and a Tea Garden where the girls learned the art of how to purchase a tea pot that doesn’t leak when tipped. We got to taste a variety of teas but I (Debbie) stopped at the Monkey Tea , when I found out the name came from the tea that grows so high in the trees that the only way for it to be harvested is by monkeys. That was interesting, but I decided I had enough tea tasting for one day. We also went to Shamian Island which was built by the colonial powers in the 19th century. The island is home to the Chinese Consulate, Embassy, Medical Center and many shops run solely for tourists who come to the island to adopt and shop. The island is also home to the famous "White Swan" hotel. Pictures are from our day out at the Folk Art Museum, Tea Garden, view from our 14th floor hotel and picture of us at the White Swan hotel.
